Dr Alan Johnston has been involved in real-time communications over the internet since the 1990’s.  He has written industry standards, patents, journal articles, technical books, and two technothriller novels. He is a co-author of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) used in Voice over IP (VoIP) and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) networks and the security protocol ZRTP.  He has worked in both industry and universities, and currently teaches at Rowan University in New Jersey.  Follow him on Twitter @alanbjohnston.
